This concept and associated design approach is diametrically opposed to that of most previous thermal solar energy work. Earlier designs sought to get the highest efficiency thru generating at very high temperatures and pressures. This approach required expensive equipment and materials that were both specialized and complicated.
The key to achieving a true lowest cost solution lies in the recognition that a low cost system can come only with efficient, mass manufacturing and/or using components that already exist in the industrial and commercial marketplace. These components should be easily employed in a solar system with little or no modification. Economics is the driver.........not efficiency.
The SEPCOR system will produce green solar power in relatively high voltage 3 phase power. This is unlike existing Photovoltaic systems, which produce low voltage DC power that feeds a local DC need. If AC power is needed, the DC power generated by photovoltaic systems can be stepped to higher voltage AC by utilizing expensive equipment and adding complexity to the design.
